Since we started with the first experiments on old napkins, it has always been clear to us what product we wanted to offer; it had to be consistent with what we think and say. Hence the continuous search for raw materials, where possible, organic, Italian, and with production respectful of both the environment and workers.
Organic Cotton: Sustainability at the Heart of Our Pellina
To create our wax cloths, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton, promoting sustainable agricultural practices that respect the environment. Our dedication to sustainability also extends to fabric printing, where every step of the printing process complies with GOTS standards. We entrust weaving and printing to Italian companies.
Waxes
Beeswax: the secret of preservation
We are proud to use only certified organic beeswax from beekeepers in the province of Turin. The wax we use is tested by an accredited body confirming the absence of pesticides, antibiotics, and phytopharmaceuticals.
Candelilla Wax: the VEG choice for our Pelline
It’s extraordinary to think that Pelline VEG uses, to excel in food preservation, the same means adopted by a plant to protect itself from dehydration! This is what the Candelilla shrub does by producing wax on leaves and stems.

Oils
EVO oil: gold of the Ligurian Riviera
Here’s the other fundamental ingredient! Organic extra virgin olive oil, of Italian origin, is the key to the flexibility of our Beeswax Pelline.
Coconut Oil: each wax has its oil!
For our Pellina VEG, we use organic, cruelty-free, and vegan coconut oil.
Food Grade Pine Resin
An extraordinary product of nature, this ingredient is what creates the magic of adhesion! We use it in both Beeswax Pelline and the VEG line. Our resin is produced in Portugal and is certified food grade.

Product Certification
MOCA: Materials and Objects in Contact with Food
Pellina has undergone thorough testing by an accredited laboratory to certify its safety when in contact with food. We have invested a lot in the safety of our product; Pellina is a new material, so it was necessary to develop a specific protocol to test its compliance.
Pellina has been found safe for food contact, free from substances that may be harmful if ingested.

Certifications of Our Materials
GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard
It ensures that the cotton used for our fabric meets rigorous environmental and social standards, including the use of organic materials and sustainable practices throughout the entire production chain.
Oeko Tex: Confidence in Textiles
A certification standard whose purpose is to verify and manage the presence of toxic substances (for humans and the environment) in textile products. The printing processes of our fabrics are Oeko Tex class II.
Organic
The oils and beeswax we use are produced in compliance with the standards established for organic farming, which involve limited or no use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms.
FSC: Forest Stewardship Council
For our packaging, we use FSC-marked paper and cardboard, a certification that guarantees wood-based products come from responsibly managed forests, considering environmental, social, and economic criteria.
